A floating staircase in Souillac

Fourteen oak treads set into a stone wall: our most delicate job of the year.

The owners wanted a staircase that would not block the light from the large bay window. We designed 6-centimetre-thick treads in Périgord oak, fixed to the stone wall with hidden brackets.

Three weeks in the workshop, two days of installation, and a staircase that seems to hold itself up. The photos are in our portfolio.
